Blue Monday: Bluebird of Serendipity

A couple of weeks ago, I took a trip up to Castlewood Canyon state park to photograph some of the birds that live there. The park has lots of trails that wind through a couple of important habitats. As soon as I got to the park, I saw this dead tree looming of over the parking lot. I took a few shots of the tree for a few different angles. While I was shooting, this Bluebird (I believe that it is a Mountain Bluebird) flew up and started singing...

Happy Blue Monday!

Some birds seem to really like the attention. I find anyways. Pull out your camera and they're are 'look at me! look at me!'. :-)

The tree is great!

A lively, singing, happy bluebird sitting on a lifeless tree. Now that's a good photo.

Thanks for your visit. I had to laugh at your comment about your wife not letting you touch hammers or fabric. My hubby actually helped me with some of the project. He held the fabric taut while I did the hammering. Then he would hammer again to make sure it was in good. We managed to not smash each other's fingers. He also did the replacement of the hinge screws while I held the bench seat steady. I love your picture. How lucky to get the bird while you were getting photos of the tree!

Thanks everyone! I love the Mountain Bluebird. It's a treat to see the very blue streak of color fly by.

I missed the bird at first look. I was just marveling at the tree against that "bluebird sky"!

I would have missed the bird if you hadn't brought it to my attention since the limb against the sky was so interesting.
