Old Photos

O is for Old Photo of old memories. This is a slide that I took back in 1997 or, was it 1998?? It was during a trip to visit my friend Cerine out in North Carolina. We traveled the whole state from Cape Hatteras to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I had a great time. This photo is of a living history museum.

I took a number of old slides into a local processor to have the slides scanned. I wanted to give locals my business first. However, I can't say that I'm all that happy with the results. Out of 10 slides, only a couple are usable. So, I'll now try the same slides with someone else. Anybody out there have any recommendations?

Be sure to check out the other great photos from ABC Wednesday.

Too bad about your other slides. This shot turned out great though. Lovely colors and lighting. I have thousands of slidew. I'd love to transfer some over to my computer, but I haven't tried yet. Good luck with attempt number two!

What a lovely shot. I can see myself sitting in the shade, enjoying the peace and quiet that there seems to be.

I have a lot of old photos which I want to have scanned. I did it once at the local photoshop and the result is okay! I have them now on my computer. You're right to try to have them scanned again by somebody else.

Excellent light and color! It looks warm out there in the sun so I feel good here in the shade. I wouldn't've guessed North Carolina from this photo...for some reason it makes me think further west and flatter.

Lovely photograph, very atmospheric.
I have loads of slides from the days when I had an SLR and keep wondering what to do with them.

Nice photo! I have tons of old photos and bought (some years back) a scanner with a 'slide carrier'. Took forever but I finally got a CD of images of my parents' early life. Invaluable and worth every minute!

Hi Russ, as you know I've been slowly scanning my old family slides. It does take a bit of time but well worth it. I recently came across this site, scandigital.com, looked interesting. Let me know if you try it.

Thanks everyone. I still thinks slides are incredible. There seem so alive somehow.

Anyway, I'll keep trying places.

I'll let ya'll know what I find!
