10 shot stitched panorama. If you click on the photo, you can see the "original" size if you choose the right option. From here, you can examine the picture close up and see the building on top of pikes peak. NOTE: The photo has been heavily compressed - the extreme closeups look much better on the uncompressed version...

I am loving your photography, cousin! I look forward to checking out your photos each day you post them. Perhaps you'll give me the family discount when I ask for prints? ;)

Dwarfed by the scenery. Fantastic!

I wonder if there's photo of a photographer photographing this painter somewhere in the blogosphere. ;-)

Is the building just visible and sort of flat? I'm wondering if I'm seeing the right thing.

This is an excellent photo and I can't see the stitches!

10 shots! Nicely done. How big is this baby uncompressed?

I'll have to go off ms toast's comment and remark that it would be amusing to see a photographer in the photo holding camera with LCD showing painter and scene.

What a beautiful shot. That view is breathtaking!

Re: your comment on my blog, I like the idea of taking a spray bottle of water with me. :-)

Thanks every one!

Lesley - of course!

ms toast burner -- you are correct. It's a gift shop and little food court type o' thing. There's a cog railroad that goes up there.

Bryan, well, originally, it was 13 portrait shots - but I cropped off the from both ends. The file size was > 170M Big enough that elements freaks on it.

And both of you - the recursive, self-referential photo would be fun to do, or be in!

I really have fun with panoramas - you can sometimes catch some interesting stuff in them...

Delightful, Russ! Makes me want to grab an easel and head for the Rockies! Love it.
