The Sky is Falling!

This photo is from a very wet backpack Kelly and I did in the Pecos Wilderness in NM a while back. We ran into some seriously nasty thunderstorms with rain and hail. This shot shows the clouds we are walking through. Sometimes, in order to see the sky, one looks down.

This shot was taken with my old Canon G2. It's a great little camera to take when traveling light, and fast.

Oh wow! This is a fantastic capture. Even if the conditions were not very desirable, the whole scene is still so beautiful.

Have a happy weekend! :)

What a great shot! Not a typical NM sky, but awesome!

FYI, you link did not go to this post, but another, so I changed it to go to your home page. Please try to check when you post so it goes to the right place. (It went to "Meander.")

Thanks so much for participating. I really love this photo, and it makes me want to visit. Although the likelihood of a similar photo would be VERY small!

Excellent! I can feel the forest breathing and the clouds going through it. Must have been some journey with those storms.

What a mystical vista with the fog rolling in. It looked cold. But what a shot.

Beautiful view. I like how the trees in the foreground are in such sharp focus and the misty background is a bit softer.

Wonderful view. You get to some really wild places.

I used to have a G2, I loved it. Got some great shots out of it, especially in macro. I sold it when I upgraded but I sometimes wish I hadn't.

Great shot and view...

Sometimes some of the best weather shots happen, when the sky is at it's less desirable :-)

Ya know Russ, you could have said that you had risked life and limb and climbed to the tip top of a pine tree to take that photo and I would have believed you. Seriously.

The misty hills are beautiful but the trees in the foreground make this photo 'yours', imo. I mean yours in that a lot of your photos there's an added 'something' that takes them beyond just nice photos.

Great photo.

A very nice and atmospheric shot, I like the tree on the left particularly.
