When I consider my photography, I notice a trend. I tend to take a lot of photos that includes the sky - and lots of it. I really love watching the sky, watching clouds form and evolve. I love watching storms roll in and hit. I love watching the light dim as the sun sets and the stars begin to appear. I feel that these photos are my most successful. So, I guess that its natural that I point my camera towards the sky.
However, I continue to try to branch out and grow as a photographer. One area I would love to improve in is photographing people. Recently, I "discovered" a well know photographer Clay Enos. I find his portraits amazingly compelling. I'm especially impressed by his street studio series where he gets wonderful portraits from random people passing by.
All I can say is wow. Something to shoot for.
Be sure to visit SkyWatch Fridays for more photos of the sky (and less rambling about portraits).

I'm new to photgraphy but the more I do it the more I like it. I rarely seem to get good pictures at night or even dusk.
This is a really nice shot.
Wonderful.
That's a fabulous sky capture. I too take land and sky pics and forget about people which I need to work on.
Terrific sky and you captured the lighting so well. I too tend to shy away from people shots - too difficult! The blog by Clay Enos is amazing...wow!
Beautiful shot. Perfect capture of the light play.
Goodluck with your goal capturing people as well as you do skies. I'll be checkin out the Clay Enos site.

Beautiful capture.. The yellow light ray is awesome..
Have a nice day..
Wonderfully lovely scene!
Excellent moody sky. It´s always good to take photos of what you are interested the most. I wanted to take more photos of people but it´s not really my thing.
Star light, star bright... great shot!
I agree, great portraits.
I'm in two minds about photographing people; people are simply interesting as are photos of people but I feel uncomfortable taking candid shots. Weird.

thanks for sharing
I love this photo. I also tend to photograph the natural especially the sky and am normally disappointed when I photograph people because I don't concentrate on it. I've become a follower of your blog. Jo (South Africa)
Love your photos
Beautiful skies!! Good luck with photographing people! I find it to be incredibly hard.
I love looking at the skies too. Your photos are marvelous and this one just delightful!
Hugs and blessings,
Well, it's no wonder you post a lot of sky shots, because they really are superb. So dramatic! I would suggest just keeping the idea of thrill and drama or whatever in mind when you approach your other subjects and they will be more like what you are searching for, in people or even rocks, for that matter.
Also, congratulations on the Scenic Sunday post. Thrillingly gorgeous.
Thanks ya'll!
Love this shot. Nice phtotography throughout this blog. You are well on your way! I admire your ambition to improve.
