Past and Present

While in Cripple Creek, CO this weekend, I found that I walked into the middle of a war zone. Ok, a re-enactment of one. Cripple Creek honors the United States Armed Forces with their military appreciation weekend, during which there were a number of WWII battle re-enactments. This photos shows spectators and actors between battles.

Be sure to visit Sepia Scenes.

How interesting. I had no idea there were World War II re-enactments. Civil War, Revolutionary War - yes. But, WW II? Totally new idea. Fascinating picture.

Kudos to them for commemorating WWII veterans, and to you for sharing this photo of it with us. My grandfather never was one to speak about the war, but alas, they should be honored in spite of their often persistent silence.

Thanks all!

Vita - thank you!

Annie - I wondered the same thing. It made me wonder how long it took before civil war re-enactments took place. Does a certain amount of healing need to happen first?
