Replenish

This little pond, surrounded by cattails, serves as an suburban sanctuary for marsh and water birds. Sadly, it may die this summer. Apparently, given the current economic conditions, the city of Colorado Springs will not maintain the Ute Valley Park pond. I'm hoping that summer brings clouds like the one above to replenish this pond. I'll be watching this sky.

For photos from other who watch the sky, focus your gaze on Skywatch Fridays.

Outstanding capture. This is so beautiful. I know I'm a broken record, continually gushing over your photographs, but you know you're too talented that's why.

It would be a tragic loss to loose such a treasure.

I love it. The clouds look so low very cool.

That would be a shame if they let the pond die. Beautiful photograph, hopefully it won't be the last!

Wow...double Wow! I think this is the most dramatic sky I've ever seen on Skywatch. Amazing capture. And the composition and lighting...well ditto!

Russ, what a spectacular sky! The colours are so soft and the composition of the clouds is great. The photo looks like a waterpainting. Thanks for showing. It's a pity that the pond is going to die, due to the economical crisis.
Thanks for your kind words!

Terrific shot!!

All the lines; the direction/movement of the clouds and the foreground grass, give the feeling the scene is about to be sucked into a vacuum...

Very dramatic.
