Barn

We're back! We had a great time in Crested Butte. It is a very beautiful place! There is a lot of ranch land in the valleys, surrounded by gorgeous mountains. Sadly, we only got a few glimpses of the mountains due to the clouds and rain.

Here's a shot of a barn seen along the Kebler pass road. We tried to get to Irwin lake, however, the final few miles to the lake were still covered in deep snow. At the top of this image, you can see the beginnings of the low layer of clouds.

I'll be posting a few other images from this trip during the next few weeks.

Don't forget to visit Sepia Scenes for other great sepia images.

EDIT 5/31/09 - I had a request to post the original color version. Here is a link to it...

I'm guessing that this place is magnificent in the Fall season too. Maybe we will get a chance to see it like that as well?? Hint. Hint. Happy Wednesday to you.

What a lovely idyllic place to vacation. Is that barn a barn or a barn living quarters?

My entry is here: http://ewok1993.wordpress.com

BTW, can you also post this in original color version?

Every one of your Colorado posts are great! This is so nice looking, the sepia tone adding to a beautiful aged view.I feel that we are in 1909 or even earlier...

It's always fun to see how well old barns fit the sepia! And the landscape around this one made also me think of Little House on the Prairie! :)

This one for me is very beautiful. I love this kind of scenery. I can imagine, there are lots of green colors....in this place...

Very cool. Too bad you didn't make it to the lake. I can't imagine there still being snow around at the end of May much less snow that bars travel.

I'm from Utah so this kind of scene is very familiar to me. I just love coming upon an old barn or outbuilding nestled in the lap of a mountain valley. Nicely captured. BTW--I really enjoy your blog. Hope you can stop by to see my sepia scene and window views Thanks!

What a gorgeous scene for sepia! It is just the kind of place where I would like to be.

But as you know what they say, rainy weather makes great dramatic black&white photos. I like how this points out from your blog:)
