The Bridge

I seem to have this weird luck. Often, there will be construction happening near where I live that either causes great inconvenience, or that I look forward to for some other reason. The Folsom American River bridge (pictured above), is such an example. Towards the end of my first stint living near Folsom, CA this bridge was being constructed. I was really looking forward to it because it would've eased my commute.

It opened a couple of weeks before I left. The second time that I lived in the area, it was another bridge. I never got to see that one completed. I'm sure it's all confirmation bias on my part.

For other large things, cross over to Thursday Challenge where the theme is "BIG" (Massive, Tall, Roadside Monuments, Buildings, Trees, Animals,...)

Other than adjusting the levels, some very minor spot cleaning, and rotating the image 180 degrees, this image as not been manipulated. I shot the photo of the reflection of the bridge from the slightly rippling water. Inverting a reflection can have some interesting effects.

Nicest reflection shot I've seen a looong time. I like the way you've flipped it upside down, works very well. Nice colors also. Bad luck with the bridges. Anything in the making near by at the moment? :)

I hope you get to go back and visit so you can see what that bridge looks all completed.

I really like this angle.

Great reflections! I studied it for a while, before I understood it was all water and reflection.....I was looking for the end of the bridge and the beginning of the water! Well - it is late at night....but also a great shot!
