Viewer's Choice

Sunset on the La Sal mountains behind the Delicate Arch in Arches National park.

This is very common image. While I was there, on a cold, breezy evening, there was at least 30 other photographers. I like to try to capture the cliche images at famous place and then try to find unusual subjects, or, familiar subjects seen in unusual ways.

This image is an HDR image taken a few minutes later, from a slightly different image.

Which one do you like better?

It is a common image but a spectacular sight isn't it. One does not grasp the enormous size of the arch from an image. When I saw it I was stunned by it's massive size, I always thought it must be called delicate arch because of it's size. After hiking out to it I decided it was called delicate arch because of it's precarious postition on the edge of the bowl it sits on. A tremendous sight and a must see for everyone. Beautiful pictures.

oh, I like the first picture the best, the view of the sun reflecting of the snow-capped LaSal's is gorgeous. I spent a lot of time on those mountains in my younger days.

Both great, nothing to choose between them.

I like the first one best. Seems just a little crisper which really shows the sunset colors on the snow. Plus I like the line up of the mountains under the arch. Both great captures Russ.

This is an absolutely gorgeous image! I used to have no desire at all to travel... that was before my passion for photography grew and grew... now, I WANT to travel so I can photograph everywhere!

P.S. I really like your blog header!
